Bastant Design is a Danish design brand that combines functionality, aesthetics and quality in home interiors that last – in both style and material. Each and every design bears the mark of timelessness and is created with uncompromising love for materials and craftsmanship.
We work in pure, solid metals like brass and stainless steel, and each and every product is hand-crafted in a Danish blacksmithing factory. These are interiors with weight – in more ways than one – made of durable materials so they can last the rest of your life.
Handmade Danish production
All our products are developed and produced by hand at a Danish forge. This not only means that we have full control over the quality and details – it also ensures that the products are manufactured under good working conditions and with the shortest possible transport route.
We believe that local production is the way forward in a globalized world. It is better for both the climate and the people who are part of our journey.
Brass – recyclable, beautiful and long-lasting
Brass is one of our most used materials – and for good reason. It is both beautiful, strong and extremely resistant to wear and corrosion, i.e. degradability. Brass consists of copper and zinc, and it is produced today almost exclusively from recycled materials. This makes brass both a resource-rich and circular material that can be recycled over and over again without losing its properties – and without compromising on quality.
Steel – strong, durable and infinitely recyclable
Steel is another of Bastant’s key materials. It is not only durable and elegant – it is also one of the world’s most recyclable materials. Steel can be remelted and reused indefinitely without losing strength, making it both a sustainable and conscious solution in an era where resource consumption is in focus. Steel is easily recycled, efficiently mined and easily sorted – making it ideal for interiors that need to withstand everyday use while protecting the environment.
FSC-labeled packaging
Our paper towel holder boxes are designed and produced locally by the Danish company Flexiwell from 100% FSC certified materials, just like our shipping boxes. The FSC label is our guarantee that no more wood is cut than the forest can reproduce, just as the label ensures that animals and plants are protected, and that the people who work in the forest are educated and work under decent pay and safety conditions.
